We are providing industries, institutions and homes in Kenya with affordable, clean energy
4.3 million people die globally per year making air pollution the number one environmental cause of diseases worldwide. This number is more than Malaria, TB and HIV/AIDS combined. Majority are in Sub-Saharan Africa.
1 tonne of our product offsets 25 trees from being cut considerably reducing carbon footprints.
7.3 million hectares – roughly 8.76 million soccer fields of trees are cut down every year for biomass. In Kenya alone, we lose 52,000 hectares of trees for fuel.
Majority of the communities cannot afford other clean options, we provide them with an affordable alternative.
Social change begins with working with those closest to the problem
How we are replacing firewood
Firewood is the primary source of fuel for many institutions, industries and homes in Kenya. We are replacing firewood with our LongBurn briquettes. LongBurn is made from recycled agri-wastes. It burns hotter and longer than wood firewood, thereby allowing our customers to reduce their cooking fuel consumption by 50%. It is also nearly smokeless, which reduces the risk of the cooks or workers contracting a respiratory illness or infection and also keeps kitchens clean and soot-free.
